Tax & Accounting Services for Markham Residents and Businesses

We provide a comprehensive range of tax and accounting services designed to serve the diverse financial needs of Markham's residents and its robust business ecosystem. Every new engagement starts with a complimentary consultation where we assess your tax situation and provide a clear, no-obligation quote.

Personal Tax Returns (T1)

We prepare personal T1 returns for employment, pension and other income, including prior-year returns. Tell us about rental income, investments, foreign income, property sales or other circumstances that may require additional reporting before we confirm the quote.

Gather relevant T4, T4A, T5, T3 and other income slips, your previous Notice of Assessment, and receipts for items such as RRSP contributions, tuition, donations, medical or childcare expenses. If you started a side business, include its income and expense records as well. Do not assume that an expense qualifies for a claim simply because you have a receipt.

Our tax documents checklist and the CRA's preparation guidance provide further detail. If records are missing or several years are outstanding, list them in your enquiry so we can assess the next step.

Corporate Tax Returns (T2)

For an incorporated business, we prepare the T2 as agreed. Tell us the corporation's year-end, last filed year and whether its financial statements are ready. Bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, payroll and registry annual returns are separate items to confirm in the quote. See corporate tax preparation for the records needed.

Bookkeeping & Accounting

We help categorize transactions and reconcile business bank and credit card accounts. We discuss the bookkeeping software that suits your needs and agree the work before starting. Tell us which periods are outstanding, how many accounts are involved and what records you have. Reporting and financial statement preparation should be specified in your quote rather than assumed to be included in a tax-return fee.

Payroll Services

Our payroll service can help with pay calculations, source deductions, payroll reporting and year-end slips as agreed. Tell us your employee count, pay frequency and whether setup or earlier periods need attention so we can confirm the work and fee.

GST/HST Filing

We assist with GST/HST registration and return preparation. Tell us about the business activity, existing account and reporting periods, including anything overdue. We review the records and quote the required work. Registration requirements and available input tax credits depend on your circumstances; do not assume a single revenue threshold answers every case. See our GST/HST service to start a scope review.

Self-Employed & Freelancer Tax Filing

For an unincorporated business, we review income and expense records alongside your personal tax information. Gather invoices or platform summaries, bank statements and supporting receipts, including business-use records for shared costs. If transactions need organizing before preparation, bookkeeping is quoted separately. See self-employed tax preparation.

Remote filing or an office visit

You can work with us remotely from Markham without an office visit. We explain how to provide documents, ask about missing information and give you the prepared return to review. After approval and the required authorization, we electronically submit eligible returns. If you prefer to meet, use our Scarborough office; see hours and visit details.

Know the work and fee before you start

We explain what documents are needed, confirm the scope and fee before beginning, and give you the prepared return to review. You can speak with us in English, Urdu or Punjabi and choose remote or in-person service. Work outside the agreed scope is quoted in writing first.

Basic personal returns start from $69.99 and self-employed returns from $149.99, in Canadian dollars, before HST, per return. Additional income sources, complexity and record preparation can increase the fee.

Corporate returns start from $250 for a nil T2, subject to assessing the corporation’s circumstances, and $499 for an active T2 (tax-document preparation and e-filing, including guidance on what information to provide; organizing unprepared financial records costs extra and is quoted before starting), before HST, per tax year. Having no income alone does not establish eligibility for the nil starting price. These fees cover federal T2 preparation and electronic filing; bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, payroll filings and the Ontario annual return are excluded and quoted separately in writing. Confirm other filings, including GST/HST or a federal corporate annual return, in your quote. See full corporate fee conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions - Tax Services in Markham

What should I tell you if this is my first Canadian tax return?

Tell us when you arrived, whether you have filed in Canada before and what Canadian and foreign income or property may be relevant. We review your circumstances before confirming the reporting work required. Bring the records you have and tell us what is missing; do not assume a benefit or filing exemption applies without checking the rules for your situation.

Should I incorporate my business?

The decision depends on the business, money you need personally, expected administrative costs and ongoing filing obligations. Tell us about your activity and plans so we can discuss the service needed. Incorporation is not automatically a tax saving, and a corporation's filings are separate from its owner's personal return.

Can you help with a CRA notice?

If the CRA sends a notice about a return we prepared, we explain it at no charge. Responses to CRA letters, organizing supporting records, communicating with the CRA and audit assistance are additional paid work. We agree the scope, your authorization and a separate written quote before starting. We do not offer formal Notices of Objection. Include the response date in your enquiry so we can assess the work and availability.
